Group roles – Communication supporter
Help people with more difficulty getting their ideas across/ following the discussion, e.g. by writing key words, helping put their ideas out to the group
Help people with aphasia get into the discussion, e.g. by slowing it down, indicating a person has something to say
Clarify and check things out – say if you don’t follow
Write key points on the flipchart so everyone can keep track of the discussion – clear but don’t interpret
Write down any interesting quotes, ideas – so we have a good record of what people said and thought
